This is a wonderful resource, thank you so much. I am in the process of rebuilding my 550K0 and this info is very useful. My build not to the same standard as yours, however.

I am in awe of the total build and pictures.   But I do have a question.  I am not sure but :

Is there supposed to be a black plastic plug covering the hole where the kick starter lever flips out?

Just FYI to those looking for 17351-390-780 for 77-78 CB550K: the part Clauss Studios has for the earlier years fits it just fine, https://www.claussstudios.com/store/p214/Honda_CB550_F_K_1974-1976_Element_Cover_Seal.html

Also, the link for the GM windshield plugs required a $20 minimum order or something like that.  I went on ebay and searched for GM weatherstrip 1956 Corvette and got them significantly cheaper from another vendor.

I created a pdf, printed it out and used it as a go-to source when I restored mine a few years ago. Great to see it’s still up!

Hi, folks! Just stopped by to make sure pics are still showing up, and noticed the comments. Glad this is still relevant!

Marksman: yes there is supposed to be a small black cover over the kick stand mechanism, and I tried many different substitutes but never found one that worked. Sooo... there ya' go!

Good eye, though. 👀

Maraakate: thanks for the info re: the weatherstrip plugs. They're great for plugging that airbox drain hole - very important for proper engine ventilation.

Everyone else: I'm glad this is still being used, and good to hear it's been helpful over the years... makes the long, tedious, painful process of creating it worth the effort!

Just kidding, of course! It was a pleasure and a work of love, and I'm happy to have produced it...

I no longer have the bike; sold it to a Honda bike mechanic who offered more for it than I could say no to. It's now on temporary display in their showroom and I understand it's fairly popular. Lots of people had one of them, back in the day, and they tell me it's a real conversation starter.

Anyhow, enuff of that. Thanks for the comments; I truly appreciate them.

Ron, thanks a million for your time and effort to assemble this thread. I'm doing a 750k7, but I'm sure much of what you share here on your 550 is applicable to mine. Awesome workmanship by the way!
