75 cb550 bobber
« on: May 06, 2012, 01:59:54 PM »
Here is a couple recent pics of my 1975 cb550 build that has lasted about a year.  I will hopefully have it on the road here soon.  Pretty much every nut and bolt has been of the bike, along with quite a bit of modifications to get it right where I wanted it. Thanks to all the guys on the board for helpin me with all my questions,  you guys made life a lot easier with the quick responses.  I have pics goin all the way back from the day of  the find, but heres where im at as of this week.

Dergs that looks really good is that the stretched swing arm or stock. I forgot to ask if you painted the frame or PC. Thanks again for the pipes and nice visit. Will let you and Karl know for next RatRod bike ride in Chicago.

Yes, that is with the stretched swing arm 3'' back.  And do keep us posted on the rides, really would like to do that.  Ps: carl's new bike shop in aurora has some very old vintage bikes, most in the shape as found and not tampered with.  Went there today.  20's 30's 40's era bikes.  I was in awe, plus some old stingrays, as well as many others.  I know that some of the prices are a little high, but carl can most likely help you out with that if your interested. text call or hit me up for the address if you every want to check it out.
Talk to you soon.

Steakified, Chicago huh... Where at, and if so, you on the road or already running?  Hopefully sometime soon I will be on the road myself.  If you want we should meet up

Yeah, chicago...kinda.  I've been living in pretty much all of the bad parts of the city for the last 13 years.  Had enough and moved out to Oak Park, right near Austin and 290.  I've only recently gotten interested in motorcycles and I'm on the hunt for my first sohc.  I've been looking for a old bike to fix up and just haven't found the right one.  Interest in these old bikes have kinda picked up so it has been hard for me to find a bike that is already running but needs some work and in my price range.  The price range is the hard part.

Where you at dergs?
