Picked up a fairly unmolested 1980 CB650 for $600. She was leaking gas everywhere and the tires were bald, but it only had 15k on it.
Went through the carbs, cleaned them out, put an inline filter on for now (will be replacing the tank) rejetted to 120 mains, 42 slows and set the air mixture screws to 2 turns out. Then I pulled the stock air box out and installed two K&N filters. Runs great!
Now I can start tearing it down...I have a pretty cool idea for the rear suspension. I bought a mono shock from a Ninja 600 because the spring is rated to be used without a linkage and I'm going to try to hide the shock as best I can under the seat.
Making some progress...
Got my headers wrapped. Used exactly 50'. Picked it up from a guy named "turboworks" on e-bay for $27 shipped.
Also I ordered some spokes from buchanan spokes to lace a 16" rear Harley rim to my Honda hub. They were $$$ but it's the only way I can run a 16" whitewall tire.
I'll keep updating with photos...
