Video Games
« on: June 12, 2006, 10:35:11 PM »
I'm sure some of you guys when not working on bikes enjoy a good video game or two. I love em all from good old fashioned atari up through the xbox 360. Not really a computer game player (although worms armageddon, and half-life/counterstrike almost ended my college career  ;) ). Anyway what game(s) are you all playing at the moment. Right now I am on the hunt for the last colossi in
Shadow of the Colossus. It's a hell of a game!

Always wanted to start this topic.  PS1 plays GT2 mostly and on cpu the original road rash.
A couple of the guys I race with and I believe the games help reaction times especially bikes cause there is more hand coordination.

Been mainly doing the dragonball games myself. I get into some of the older pc and super nintendo games though. The new systems look pretty but not many of hte games have high replay value to me.

I would love to try the Tourist Trophy but doesn't have PS2, nor will I buy for myself as I'm not much into video gaming. I have played a lot with an old version of MotoGP. The good thing is that as soon as the game is two or three years old, they sell for about 10 bucks just because the racers and the bikes are from an old season, while the program engine is pretty much the same...

Being a nostalgic as I am, I enjoy a lot the MAME games. MAME is an emulator program, where you can play ALL the games you used to play with at the arcade shops: Galaxian, Pac-MAN, Golden Axe, Nemesis, you name it. They are not good copies, they are the Real McCoy as the emulator works as a machine and the games are actual copies of the game ROMs. Same images, same sound. Even to start you need to press "5" to insert coin...

Haven't had any time for the PS2 lately, but I was really into the Grand Theft Auto series for a couple of years.  In fact, that game was the reason I bought the system in the first place.

Yeah, I'll also agree that emulators rokk. My "newest" discovery has been the supercard for my good old gameboy advance/ds. This thing is the greatest. I've currently got a couple hundred old school nintendo games on this card, plus about ten gameboy advance roms. To me one of the greatest parts about this is when I hook it up to my gamecube via the gameboy player, then i've got an entire collection of games to be played on the big screen! Hells yeah. I think one of my favorite nes games of all times has to be Mike Tysons (pre ear eating) Punch Out!!!! Doesn't matter how many times I play it, I still love it. On a completely new school note, anyone a fan of Katamari???

Got it for my girls and they love it...

Last game I played\beat was God of War and must say it was pretty fun. Actually the only games I have for the PS2 are GT3, GT4(w/ logitec wheel), God of War, and Katamari. I like the rainbow six and chost recon games but I dont buy them, normally just borrow from friends if I feel the urge.

I also have an xbox that only gets used for halo 1\2.. well only two now but really I dont play that much anymore unless the fam is over and we play multiplayer. I will pick up a xbox 360 when halo 3 comes out but I will also snag that new ghost recon game since I played it at a friends house and it was extremelly sick. The only bad part is that I dont think I will be able to pick up a HDTV Plasma which is pretty much a must w/ the new console and games.

I could probably list off a few dozen excellent games, but I think Crazy Taxi would come out almost on top.
That stupid game on Dreamcast has wasted so much of my time,  ;D
It has the simple addictive gameplay that sucks you into getting higher scores and playing for hours.
If any of you hasn't tried the original Dreamcast version and get the chance, it's definately worth it (if you can spare hours of you life that is,  :D)

Haven't bought a console system since PS1 (but I loved Gran Turismo!). I've been addicted to PC games for several years. Mainly first-person shooters like Unreal, Quake, etc. I finally talked a couple of friends into trying them and now we try to play each other, online, a couple of times a week. We mainly play Far Cry, Medal of Honor, and Battlefield 1942. We're looking into some racing sims and flight sims too. There's a whole lot of fun in hiding behind a rock and killing your friends. Is that wrong?  ;D

Nothing wrong with that at all... as long as you don't go out in real life and do the same thing!  ;D (well, maybe every once in a while)

Ah, the good ol' times of "Leisure Suit Larry", on a 286 computer with CGA screen... those were the days... and the Sinclair Spectrum and the games that needed 10 minutes to load from the cassette tape.

They have GTA Vice City for Xbox now, highly recommended!!

And yeah, I remember Leisure Suit Larry!  When I was a kid, my friend Victor and I used to sneak into his dad's office and play it on his computer.  He busted us once, too!  I remember thinking how amazing those graphics were. ;D

I finally finished shadow of the colossus and am trying to decide which of the 4 or 5 games i haven't started yet to start... Or I could always finish the ever time consuming final fantasy x-2 that i started a year ago
