Cb750F2/F3 motor identification
« on: May 19, 2012, 05:28:44 AM »
Hey Guys

I just bought a (rough, hand painted!) black 750 motor as a spare for my 750 K8 ...the engine number plate is in a different location from my K8 motor (perpendicular to the starter motor cutout), and starts with the prefix CB750E 2724...  could it be a F2,F3 motor?

it also came with a great Lockhart cooler...score!

any clues greatly apprieciated

cheers

mick

I forget where the engine identification #'s are stored on this site, but pretty certain it's either a K7 or F2 motor. The F2/F3 motors have larger intake spigots where the carbs mount to the engine. Your K8 carb rubbers will be too small to mount to the engine if it's a F2/F3 motor.

If you can't find the engine # info, measure the intakes and compare to your K8 for your answer
