Ah, the sun's shining here today, so I'm off to get the roadworthy cerificate for my XR500R! ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Wife doesn't want to go to work today.

Like a real man I am forcing her to do so as, I need some $ for Kawasaki bike parts (crankshaft seals, oil lines, carburators , tire, chain, ).

so there, showed her who wears the pants in this house!

ps. do NOT contact my wife.

currently resuming restoring the Kawasaki 1971 S1/ S2 hybrid. Has an S1 frame, S2 engine. none of the 4 s2 frames I have are worth working on.

also restarted fixing up the 1976 Kawasaki KH500, with very loud pipes.....will probably be the longer term project.

I hope to have the S2 on the road this year.

when I have time I am helping my son restore a 1971 CL175. He is taking the frame and other bits to be glass beaded and painted red or some weird color.

Cool. I like those old Kawasaki's, they were pretty tough old bikes, I remember riding a Kawasaki 350 Trail bike back in the 70's, it was a truly fearsome thing, it didn't stop, it didn't go around corners, it had no suspension travel, but in a straight line it was awesome!

As far as frame color goes, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I'm sure that the Honda designers thought that red frames looked cool in 1983, I'm still thinking about painting mine black................ ;D

Don't do it Terry, you'll lose that 10% HP increase that red gives.

Once again Larry, good manners dictates that I respond to your post complete with a full quote including the same pics that we've already seen twice before. I just can't help being a nice guy, and I know you'll appreciate my good manners, being the gentleman that you are.

And you're right, red bikes are way faster, and it's harder to see the blood on your bike when you throw it down the road.......... ;D

Well.......................we could ride this to infinity and beyond Terry.   Your observation about red camouflaging blood  is very pertinent to the conversation, saved me from having to repaint my  golf cart :P

Terry,

I still have the aircleaner, oil resovoir and frame if you want them for the price of shipping. It can not be too much from Vermont to Australia, can it?

Just think of the memories you can relive after you put the frame above your fireplace mantel all nice and shiny.

You DO have a fireplace  , right?  8)

Thanks Michel, if you can find me a complete Kawasaki 350 "Bighorn", I might buy it to hang from my swamp cooler tower....... ;D

Larry, isn't it funny how some bikes look great from one angle and horrible from another? What's funnier is that your Golf Cart looks horrible from ANY angle! ;D

I can't believe that Eric misspelt "Playboy" 5 times? What's wrong with you Eric, are you fcuking blind? ;D

Passé actually. The guy in the scarf died centuries ago.
