You haven't attempted start up and you already want to rebuild the MC? And it was just done a couple thou ago? Not feeling lucky, are ya?!
Actually I would leave it as is. :)
Thanks for the info!

Don't worry, that's my plan.  I will eventually install ss rec/reg (the rectifier looks pretty crusty) and perhaps a Pamco ignition. Beyond that it will remain stock.
Before I try to run it I'm going to clean all goo from the battery box area and at least check out the carbs.
The fork seals look good, they've been replaced at least once. I'll flush em and refill. Change the oil, even though it looks fresh.
Need to see when the brushes were changed, the service records are really a huge plus! The PO was even more anal than I am about maintenance.
Of course it needs new tires as well.
I have to take it apart just to get familiar with it before I ride, I'm just sick that way.  Kinda like a pre-flight check.
For me it's as much fun to work on them as it is to ride. :)

Your forks are likely the same as my 75.  The damper has this bolt head that is hard to find anything to fit it. I was lucky that one came loose without spinning so I used it to make a tool out of copper pipe and JB Weld and cast a socket to fit.   I have thought about making a few more before I put the forks back together for good.  If your forks seals do have any leaks in the future let me know.
