Help with 750 fork I.D.
« on: February 15, 2014, 01:50:09 PM »
I have a set of forks for my STF build. All I know is that they're CB750. I'm not sure what year, but I'm guessing '75-76-ish.

I'm looked in the FAQ and there are different oil levels for different years. Is there any way to I.D. these forks? I'll be happy to take any pics or provide any numbers from the forks, if that'll help.

FWIW, they'll be going on a CB550 with a 180lb. rider. I know they're slightly longer than the 550 forks, but that's OK, as I'll be using clip-ons.

Yes, they both have 341 on them. One has a 1 L, the other has an R 2. The one with R 2 also has what looks like HF 2 on it, down near the axle clamp.

Any suggestions as to how much oil?

CB750 K3, K4, K5, 76 Dry: 155-160cc (5.3 - 5.4 oz.) Fill after drain: 135-140cc (4.6 - 4.7 oz.).

I'm waiting for new springs to reassemble mine.
