Torque Spec please
« on: May 24, 2012, 05:00:12 pm »
Howdy gents, looking for the torque specs on the bolts/nutts that hold down the front disk to the hub on a CB750K1. Looked at the factory manual and nothing in the Wheel section for it. Also, looking through the pdf manuals I downloaded, I see some specs, but not much as far as torque specs, is there something I'm missing? Is the Clymer better for that? Thanks in advance!

13-18.1 ftlbs.  attached is a snip of the manual I have for a 550... but I would think the frame parts would be the same.

I’m showing that the disc brake rotor 8 mm nut torque specs are different between the CB550 and CB750. The CB750 uses 20.3 to 23.9 ft-lbs.

The original CB750 tanged washers are a PITA and unless you want your bike to be showroom correct, they can be removed along with the original 8 mm nuts. The 1969-75 750 K bike owners can take advantage of the new style 8 mm USB disc rotor nuts that began with the introduction of the 750 K6, part number: 90309-357-000

Thank you Hinomaru! Is that page from the Honda Service Manual? I do not see those specs in the manuals I downloaded from here.

Yo Han, Those specs I posted are taken from a Honda CB 750 shop manual.  It wouldn’t be the first time that a Honda published shop manual has had discrepancy and/or update to add to the confusion. What torque specs are you seeing?

Hello Hinomaru, I'm looking at the Honda Shop manuals I downloaded from here, but I do not see a general torque specs page nor torque specs in the Front wheel section. Maybe I'm missing a pdf? Thanks for the reply.

Ends up the Honda manual I downloaded was from elsewhere. Just downloaded all the manuals from here and see the torque specs in Honda CB750 1969 - 1978 Parts Lists - Service Manuals & More.pdf. Thanks again!
