I have lots of different Powersports parts available and I'm a machinist. I'm kinda fascinated by older 2 strokes triples but the price to get into one and maintain with parts is too high.
I've also found myself with a cb750 bottom end from 75. During the winter I run a Yamaha vmax 700 snowmobile that has the sweetest sounding and running 2 stroke triple in it that makes 115 horse with single pipe stock. My idea is to replace the crank in the 750 block with a shaft with just the tranny sprockets and a sprocket on the mag side. Then deck the block as low as possible. Then mount the 700 2 stroke on top where 750 cylinders/head used to live. I don't think it will actually b much higher than the stock 750 with all it crown on it head. Then instead of a cvt style snowmobile clutch run a sprocket spinning the sprocket on 750 block. Use kick start from the cb750. Use electrical from 700 snowmobile which is way better then the cb.
It would b tuned down from 115 hp due to exhaust I would imagine and then it will loose power through the cb crank and what not. So maybe 80hp or so. How much power is the cb750 bottom end good for?
I like challenges and pulling into the local waterhole on something and having people be like what is that. nd I think this would do it. My current cb build is getting closer to completion so im thinking of what's next. What do u guys think?
Kinda like this drawing sorry its crude
