there is no excuse for using the word "bratstyle". It's not a thing. Brat was a solo shop in japan that I don't even know if they are still in business. Calling anything "bratstyle" is basically saying your bike looks like it came from this one shop in japan (that you probably didn't even know about till this conversation), which to be honest - it doesn't. It would be like calling your bike "Jesse James Style" or "OCC stye" <---see how lame that sounds? If you put Sailor tattoo art on the tank are you gonna call it "Ed Hardy Style"?

here is the shop website:
http://www.bratstyle.com/

really have a look at it and tell me if they even have a "style", because it looks like they have a variety of different interests and styles.

Here is what you do. Call Dave Quinn Motorcycles:
http://www.davequinnmotorcycles.com/cgi-bin/webc.cgi/Hagon.html

buy a pair of hagon shocks 1" taller than stock. Tell him you need the bumpstop 1" taller than the stock location (actually I would tell him all the measurements you have: stock shock travel, how much clearance you need, how much travel you have now, etc). Have him quote you a price (he's very fair). This way you'll get a good part at a good price that's built to your needs.

No, I knew about the shop in Japan. I have said brat before when talking about my bike just because I didn't think it fit the cafe style (doesn't have a rear hump). As far as I have researched, many of the actual Bratstyle bikes have a flat seat...I think that's why I started to say that. And if you look on google images you get a lot of my kind of bike. But that's how language changes and terms come into being. Maybe I should be saying cafe style...or just piece of sh!t because, arguably, my bike isn't all that nice but I like it.

Thanks for the links, I'll definitely do that sooner rather than later.

And if you're so bothered by terms I'll give myself a good slug in the nuts. But I'm not looking in the mirror...I'll have nightmares.

It almost makes me sad when you kids think the sum total of a "cafe racer" is whether it has a seat hump. Then I just have remember you are kids and don't know any better.

It's not a problem with your terms so much as knowing what you are talking about. Don't worry, you'll grow out of this soon enough.

Since I have been interested in motorcycles for less than 365 days I'd say I'm doing just fine. But if the normal evolution is to go from bike customizing to unpleasant bitterness count me out.

It's easy to check. Just ride down to the nearest "All you can eat" restaurant, smile at the fattest chick there, wait until she's eaten all 17 courses and waddles out to the carpark and get her to sit on your bike. It'll also test the integrity of your fibreglass work, Honda's frame integrity, how much pressure your tires can take, etc etc.

Just make sure you take some paper towel, not to wipe away her tears when you tell her to get off your bike, but to wipe the seat, you probably got her all excited when you smiled at her.......... ;D
Is this what you had in mind ??

You know when you ride and the wind goes in your shirt ballooning it out? Yeah, that's not happening here.

Holy hell, that's a winter time woman! ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

"Crazy is a very misunderstood term, it's a fine line that some of us can lean over and still keep our balance" (thanks RB550Four)

Fat gets cold and doesn't generate heat like muscle can...so, just say NO to Terry's fantasy girls.

Terry is trying to channel sighboy, he is being quite trying and not being quiet or trying to be quiet.

For full effect hit yourself in the testes and skip the scrotum foreplay...
Remember what Clint said, anything more than two shakes and your just playing with yourself.
