Motorcycle tour of Scotland
« on: November 08, 2007, 02:27:20 PM »
I've contacted one fellow over there that offers tours by bike, but
it seems in the UK bike rates are much higher than say the same
tour in Italy. The outfits I've found in Scotland no longer rent the bikes,
I'd have to go with a separate bike rental outfit.

Anyone ever gone over and done the bike tour bit?

Rocking M - being from Scotland and having learnt to ride in Scotland I can say its well worth it if you get the chance. There are some amazing roads and places to visit. If you need some tourist info/roads to try let me know. I cant help with bike rental but I could ask around for you if you wish.

Cheers
Andy

Andy, I'll do some more research on the family ancestral lands and get your input.
I think I can coax the wife in to doing it pillion if we have nice indoor accommodations
along the way, that's why the tour guide outfit might be a good route.
Thanks!

If and when you have the chance do it!
I had been to Scotland four times with "public transport" but I needed and wanted to go there on a bike.
Fortunatly my older brother agreed and we took of in april 2004.
It was cold, wet and BEAUTIFUL. There are some roads there that God seems to have made for motorbikers!
I did a 13 day 5000+ km trip and loved every minute of it 8)
Grtz.
