Topic: Need to order tires for 750k4 -____-

Time to get my chassis rollin'. I'm looking to come in under $180 on a pair of tires. I'd be more happy with like $150 or something. I'll have to pay for mounting and balancing too, shucks.

Anyways I've come to the conclusion that the closest sizes to the stock tires, or at least the ones I'll be shopping for are 90/90/19 or 100/90/19 up front and 110/80/18 or 110/90/18 in the rear. I think actually a 100 would be more equivalent stock size in the rear but a 110 isn't much of a stretch.

I really like the look of vintage looking tires like the Avon speedmaster rib and Avon SM Mark II, then theres the Dunlop K81 and K70's,  but I do actually want to ride the bike and I don't think those kind of 'old school' tires are exactly top performers. You can tell me I'm wrong

I'm also looking at the Bridgestone S11's or the BT-45's. At the high end of my price range may be some Avon road riders. I'll still have to purchase tubes too

I bought conti gos. They come in 3.25 front and 4.0 rear. Very good tires with as close to stock profile/ size as you can get. Thats my recomendation.

You're wrong. I have K70's on my 750K0 and they handle just fine.

Those really blow through my budget a little bit. Do you have a pic of your bike with them on? Always want to see what the tread looks like on a bike

Spitfires...best bang for the buck.  I put 100/90/19 and 110/90/18 on my 76F1.  Dennis Kirk had the best price on them...under 140 from what I remember.

Just put BT45's on my K4 recently, great tires. Went with the 120/90 on the back.

I have k70s on my 550 and I like them just fine. No handling issues at all. Nice and sticky for me.

BTW - I don't really consider the K70s to be super old school tires like the firestones or vintage cokers.

I got mine from chapparal motorsports for about 150/160 I think. I put a set on a bmw too. So far theyve been great.

How's the 120/90 on that rim? Does it appear to distort the profile of the tire too much?

The 120/90 looks good. A lot of guys may tell you not to do though. My K4 is not a daily rider and I'll be lucky if I put 2K miles on it, so the odd wearing of the tire will not be an issue for some time. And don't get an 80 series tire, too low.  I bought one cuz it was priced right and did not like the look one bit, sent it back.
You'll be happy with the BT's.

75 and 90. I think I got them on sale. Anyway, ive used the.spitfires and like them also. My one complaint is.that i am not a.fan of the central groove on the front. They are fine tires though. Sorry for all the periods. Cell phone post..... Ill get you some pics tomorrow.

I got Dunlop 404s ... 100/90/19 and 110/90/18 from Bike Bandit. $156.00
I'm very happy with them. Sticky rubber... nice round profile.

Any inner tube recommendations? If you didn't have exact size to choose you would go the next closest size up right? I mean same wheel size just talking like 110 or 120

I think the tubes I bought were Kendras for about $13. Didn't feel the need for Bridgestone at nearly double the price.

I'm hung up on whether to order the 110/90/18 or the 110/80/18 for the rear. The 80 is only about 1/2" shorter sidewall than the 90. I kind of like the idea of a slightly lower profile on the rear. I have 3/4" shorter shocks installed on the bike and I'm lowering the forks to keep the bike level. Thoughts?
