Hi Guys, im starting on my first restoration project a 1972 350f.  I started with the carbs, and the #1 carb or the outside carb on the LH side was overflowing. I figured the float was stuck, but when i got it apart one of the stems that holds the little pin for the float is actually snapped off, so thats the reason the float wasnt working. It had something on it like someone had tried to jb weld? it or something like that.  My questions are;  Is that piece that houses the float called the body? should i just buy a body off ebay or here, or am i better off spending 180 bucks and getting the complete assembly from bike bandit? where do i go from here?  thanks guys. also forgive me if this is the wrong section, im pretty new here..

The post can be micro-welded at some expense, JB Welded for less expense and commensurate surety, or replaced.
If it were me I would probably search for a replacement carb body both here and on ebay first and pursue repair only if I failed to find a suitable replacement.

Stay tuned for other differing opinions.  ;)

Take a look in my build thread in my sig....I had the same issue.
I tried JB Weld, no joy it let go right away.

Sent them off for micro weld repair and save a lot of headaches.
Jim did a beautiful job on them...very happy with the repair.
