Hello from Amarillo Texas
« on: May 30, 2012, 07:57:11 AM »
Hey guys what's up.  I just bought my first bike which is a cb550 last week.  I have a lot of plans for a budget cafe racer and I have lots of questions.  So I'm already anxious to strip it down.  I paint at Texas body shop and I already have somewhat of a paint scheme roaming in my head.  Glad to be part of this forum.  Hope to get some help and advice.

Welcome to the forum!

Know that the Search in the upper right-hand corner of the page is still under re-construction.  Use the Google Search on the left under the Home button.  Feel free to ask questions but also figure that the questions you ask may very well have been answered before multiple times.  :)
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

Amarillo is the only place I have ever been where with 6 inches of snow on the ground the wind blew and I got dirt in my eye.  Welcome from North Carolina

You make the third cb550, that know of in Amarillo.

My advice: Get it to turn over, and start first, before you tear into it.

I learned the hard way.

Welcome new guys from Amarillo!  I too have a 550.

You guys should come down to the Hill Country in October for the Harvest Classic bike show and ride.

We know another guy up there, his name is "Whata Farmer"!

Hah!  Whata Farmer!

He sent me a text about a week ago. It was his bike all loaded up. I asked where was he going? He said nowhere, it was a pic of when he got home from the Rally!?

WTF?   Whata Farmer!
