When I am too close to see the solution ,I get off my ladder and light a smoke, solution reveals itself everytime

See, proof that smoking not only makes you look cooler, it makes you smarter! 'D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Currently, I'm a physicist (PhD in astrophysics), but mostly do experimental stuff now.  I'm faculty at the local University.
Before that, I was an engineering manager/machine designer at a tool and die shop.
And before that I was a tool and die maker.

Those are the only real jobs I've had.

Engineer.  :)
I design, build, and program automation machinery. I have the best job (for me) in the world: I get to design mechanical stuff, electrical stuff, electronic stuff, computer systems, and write programs to bring machinery and robots to 'life'. Megabytes and megabytes of programs... And I get to use 3D software for design, spend countless hours on the internet, and work on SOHC4 bikes! How much fun can one guy stand?
See SOHC4shop@gmail.com for info about the gadgets I make for these bikes.

The demons are repulsed when a man does good. Use that.
Blood is thicker than water, but motor oil is thicker yet...so, don't mess with my SOHC4, or I might have to hurt you.

Trained in mechanical engineering but then quit & went into design & manufacture of leather clothing.  Had my own retail business for a few years, then ran a factory for someone else for awhile. Eventually became fed up & went back to engineering, got an industrial millwright license working in factory maintenance.  Then a field service engineer for a plastics machinery manufacturer, eventually was the service manager, but quit when I saw the company was sinking out of sight.
Now I am back as field service engineer for another injection molding machinery manufacturer, senior troubleshooter, with a lot less headaches but not home so much.

During the school year, I'm a Band Director.....in the summertime, I'm a house painter.  Paint brushes don't spew excuses and constantly whine like 12 yr olds do, so I'm looking forward to the switchover in about a week.   :)

Are you at Ben Davis University, or Lawrence North College?

That's always funny to me.

BTW, I do physician billing from my home office.

Sooooo............. Who's this physician, "Billing", who you "do" in your home office? ;D

The wedoo2 comes from managing a respiratory business for a long time.  Clever, eh?  What I need right now is to bill for a gynecologist so I can get special "medical" pics for the babe page.

Holy crap this is a brilliant crew!

I make plastic stuff in a prototype model shop. I went to school for fine art but always wanted to be an engineer. Now I tell people that I do both. Essentially I figure out how to get other peoples designs to...work and get produced.

What do you expect from kids of the "me, me, me" boomer generation? It's all about their little genius scholar and how you are robbing them of their potential ivy league education they will never test into.

Civil engineer, transportation, right now performing private development reviews for a local city.
My wife is an art teacher and her and another teacher were accused by a parent this past semester of conspiring against her daughter by counting her absent from her class so she would have to take her final exams... what the psycho mom didnt realize is there is a log in the office that students have to sign in to when they show up to school late.  Shockingly, the girls name was in there on all of the days she was absent from my wifes class, as well as her best friend who she rode to school with... dumb arses.

Sounds like you're now an engineer to me, "I figure out how to get other peoples designs to...work and get produced" a classic definition. :)  Or, the other side is the poster I've seen in some factory offices, Dirty Harry (Clint) with his gun saying "Sometimes we have to shoot the engineers & go into production"
