H beam rod id?
« on: June 03, 2012, 06:25:43 PM »
A buddy of mine sent me this pic from a mostly Harley swap meet today...turns out I know the guy selling 'em and they are dirt cheap...can anybody ID these?  Considering the color, I've got a good guess... :ogulp :o...

that was my guess...now I'm guessing these are real strong and lighter than stock?  no idea if they are damaged or unuseable...I should get to see them in person some time this week.  What should I look for?  Keep in mind, for the price he's asking, I could hang 'em on my bedroom wall and it would be well worth the money.

look for scarring in wristpin holes, and wear at the sides by the mains., I dont think it takes a hundred hrs to wear off the anodizing there. Check length, there are stroker ones out there.
If you want to flip em PM me..

Yep, RC Golden Rods
They don't seem to have seen much use given the lack of wear on the sides near the big ends. Carrillo rods are probably a better bet these days, but if the price is right who cares. Good find!

I never remember I just grab a stock rod and measure or compare it .. Get them no matter what the length..

This is a textbook example of why we should go to swaps that are "mostly Harley stuff"
