@terry in austrailia,

Hmm, maybe I miscommunicated in my post.  In no way did i ask the guy to hold it for me or anything like that for so long.  I just emailed him to see if he still had the bike and if it was still for sale and he still had it for all that time.  Either way, lesson learned to be quick.

That's it mate, don't miscontrue what I said, I wasn't having a crack at you personally, I'm just saying that if you want to grab a bargain, you have to be quick.

I've got a friend who lives interstate and works in another state, in the mines. He wants to buy my Suzuki GS1000, I offered it to him with a truck load of parts and special tools for cheap, and he said he'd take it. 2 years later, it's still here, so I said "send me 1000 bucks and I'll hold it for you" and he did right away.

It's still a pain in the arse that it's sitting here, but at least I know that he's genuine. On the other hand, if it's still here by Christmas, I'll send him back his grand and sell it on EBay, I just don't have the room to hold it for him forever. Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Hey it's cool terry, I didn't take it that way and I apologize if I seemed defensive.  Wow, Nice score on the BMW flip. :)

Terry, WOW if I held a bike for 2 years for someone, they would owe me a storage fee. He probably didn't know you were selling so to make room for a new project!!

Ha ha, thanks Chuck, he's a really nice guy and has 30 or 40 big Suzuki's, including a couple of very famous Aussie race bikes from "Back in the Day".

I wouldn't mind hanging on to it, I start it once a week and ride it around my suburb occasionally and have thought of just keeping it because it's a great bike, but I'm kinda in limbo, I like buying, fixing up, then selling bikes, but my garage is packed and I really need the space before I can bring home another project, so even though he's a great guy, I wish he'd hurry up and take it away, it's a real pain in the arse! Cheers, Terry. ;D
