So, these 2 things on the bottom of a 750 motor that look like the cover to the main oil galley (one can be seen top center)...

what are they for?
do they just drain the case?

I don't know why Honda put there, Grumpy, but there will be oil left under the crank that can't be drained via the drain plug, so if you wanted to you could get that last pint of oil out by removing them. Check for metal debris in the oil as a sign of bad happenings in the engine???

Can't really service any engine part through these points, but maybe you could snake a magnet through them to fish out a bolt/nut dropped down the cam tunnel during assembly.

Other than that I've found no purpose for their existence
Give me..a frame to build a bike on, and my imagination will build upon that frame

They are there to cover the holes that were drilled for the oil passages.
You can unscrew them and clean out a bit of oil and sludge.
Replace the o-rings when you do.
Do you have a copy of the Honda Shop Manual or Parts List for your bike? Get one here:

Ah, that make sense.
Cool, thanks.
