It's a 283. Paired up with the Turbo 350 transmission it'll have plenty of power to scoot down the road. I wanted something at least a little economical as I plan to drive it pretty much every day once it is done. Plus, it came with the car and the guy I bought it from threw in the valve covers for free. When I first got them I thought they were some cheap knock offs but after cleaning I found the casting marks inside identifying them as authentic vintage Cal Customs aluminum valve covers. I was please when I found that out.

Its kind of hit or miss here in Kansas. Sometimes you'll find something clean and sometimes it'll be a complete rust bucket. I lucked out with a ride that has been kept in a garage for the last decade. Unfortunately, before that it had set in a field with the back tires flat and the bottom touching the ground. This left a little cancer around the back but nothing that can't be fixed.

You cannot get gas proof paint in a spray can anymore.

You can get gas proof clear in a special spray can. Get the idea?

Got it running collected a ton of parts, striped it to the shell.... And then got stalled.  Last 3 years everything but the shell sat in storage finally last fall I sold the whole project with duplicates of almost everything.  I hated to do it but the storage unit was killing me and I didn't have the time or money to put it back together (pretty typical story).  Tons of pics and memories and I learned a lot.

Thats a bummer on the firebird. Storage fees can get pretty pricey. I've been there though. I had a 56 cadillac that i had planned to restore. Unfortunately laziness got the best of that and i ended up selling it. Working on the nova isn't always enjoyable but i try to spend time on it at least once a week.

Paint that thing with the original scheme you had, including the 75.  Do it in legend lime

Derelicte- Since I will be redoing some things to get it Speed Week ready I have a new idea for the paint. But that will be a ways down the road and it will be something completely different than any of my renderings thus far. I would still like to do something in that color scheme but it'll have to wait until I finish the modifications on this.

Yea but it was that or my 92 firebird my first real car (3 years of payments).. Which I've also been collecting parts for, .030 1973 350 pontiac block with later high output 6H heads and a small twin turbo setup.

Now that would make for a quick firebird. Very cool setup.
