Ultimate Pamco Ignition Kit
« on: June 04, 2012, 01:59:14 AM »
Hi Guys . I've been researching ignition systems for my period sohc pro stock project . I had a look on the Pamco site and came across their "Ultimate Ignition Kit" . I've read quit a few very positive posts on here about Pamco kits, which is why I'm considering ordering one . My question is , has anyone on here used this particular piece of kit , and how do you rate it ?. Thanks in advance Greg "H".

I use one.  My original coils were shot - I mean cables almost separated and I bit the  bullet and bought the kit  to have normal plug cables.  I purchased the ignition, coils and spark plug boots from Vintage CB750.

It works well, she has a plenty of power, starts right up and overall it was money well spent.

Disclaimer: I did not compare it to any other motorcycle or raced it against any other motorcycle and didn't take it to dyno either  - all this is is seat of my pants testing  ;D

I wont be taking it to the dyno either  ;) When I raced sohc Hondas I used the Piranha ignition which was considered Hi tech back then . I just welded up the advance/retard mechanism and both 750 and 970 motors I used ran good and strong .So an ignition similar to the old Piranha system will do because I'm building the project  bike seriously low tech and simple ,just like they were built back in the good old days. And I'll be leaving the dyno sessions and fancy electronics for the Nitrous Hayabusa which I race at the moment.
