CB750F tail light
« on: June 03, 2012, 10:13:57 AM »
Looking for a tail light for a 1977 CB750F Supersport but the ones I've seen so far are unlike this one.  They are either mounted by two screws or else 4 screws near the centre.  The one I have is mounted by 4 screws very near the corners and it has the following code: STANLEY RR501 SAEA 71   1ATPE181    1 E 11 3246   AU40L1A   JAPAN  R-169

Any help, better so with part number, would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Joseph

OK, I'm usually pretty good with Super Sports esp 75/76 but you have me stumped. Is that your bike? That picture would indicate to me a 1976 CB750F?! If you are in Europe that might be considered 77 but you do not have location filled in either. Those are NOT  750F North American turn signals either. Now, the other discrepancy is the chrome rear fender. That is NOT a CB750F part and could be why you are having difficulty. Can you shed a little (tail) light here?

Add a little more info here. New tail lights are not available from Honda. I am looking for a new one aka NOS or New Old Stock. Should you find one and not wish to pay that kind of money PLEASE let me know. I really need one for my restoration. There are MANY on EBay. They are pretty interchangeable. Mine 75/76 F has code HM-16RC.

Its a 1977 CB750F Supersport sold in the UK.  If I come across a NOS tail light which is out of my budget, I will let you know Jerry.

Side view of bike as requested.

Not that familiar with the Euro models. The have intersting differences. So that would be the stock rear fender then ?  From the blackout of your rear licence plate those also look quite larger.

More pictures with seat/cowl raised.  On the back of the unit there is STANLEY HM-16RC-B JAPAN.

That's an interesting bike.  My '76 tail light lens has the screws towards center.  So, it looks like the '77 euro version of the bike was what was sold in the states in '76 except it has lower bars, exposed chrome rear fender, smaller directionals and the seat trim is not color keyed.  Probably other things too.  Does the bike have a manufacture date on it?  Could you put up a pic of the right side of the bike?

Hello Chuck, I am attaching a picture of the right side of the bike.  No build date on the bike, but according to the log book it was first registered in the UK in 1977.

The part number that I have for the European taillight is 33702-341-003.

David Silver Spares claims the part is discontinued.

Thanks for the part number.  A member of the sohc.uk site has offered me a good second-hand one for sale and I am taking him up on the offer  :)
