Oil hoses?
« on: June 04, 2012, 06:20:00 AM »
Yes, I did search the forum and came up with not much :(

Anyway, anybody replaced their oil line with SS using old fittings and new hose?

I talked to local NAPA guy, cause he has a sign Hoses made here on thewall. He said due to liability blabla he cant even try. I thinkhe is full of it and while i search for another hose maker - jeepers have custome hoses made all the time - I was wondering  if anybody done it and what size hose works.

Thanks!

I would try a local hydraulic shop. They will have more fittings, hoses and experience...that's where I'm taking mine when I get to putting her back together. My local shop had no issues buidling any hoses I've asked for in the past.

I bot mine from ClassicCycleCity forum member. Pricey but done right. They took my fittings in as cores, as they already have the lines made up. respond if you want more info.

Thank you guys, i figured for the listed price i could make a crimping tool. Summit Racing sells hoses in AN standard and ferrulas are available in some stores

Here is a question - what is the pressure in the hose from pump to tank? The other one is atmosferic, anything will hold that.

Carpy also has them but at $99(!) a pair.

For a cheap & cheerful alternative I just spray painted my faded grey ones black with Duplicolor Vinyl & Fabric Paint to put some new life back into them: http://www.duplicolor.com/products/vinylFabricCoating/

I thought of painting too.

We need somebody like slingshot here to offer custom hoses.
