"Almost" done sucks
« on: June 05, 2012, 12:18:31 AM »
Well I've got my entire bike back together after a strip down rebuild, and now I'm stuck chasing all of the electrical gremlins out of the bike. Now I'm stuck looking at a complete bike with all the work I've done (rear sets, dohc forks and swing arm, etc) knowing I can't ride it yet. It was much less frustrating when it was a bare frame and few boxes of parts. Oh well maybe after an hour alone with the bike, a multimeter, and a fully charged battery I'll now where I stand.

The 90 10 rule: the last 10% of work takes another 90% of time. Good luck!

So true, and then when you do get it running it will take 100% of your time to sort out the kinks!

Patience, grasshopper. This is where you earn your bike.

I'd do bad things to good people for a Daytona 675. Those are amazingly good looking bikes.
Anyways what me feel worse is that I'm a diesel mechanic so I feel like an old bike should just be a breeze not a whole new game lol. Oh well I'm sure get it sorted soon.

Good thing about 'lectrica is it will not lead to a catastrophic failure - like the need to rebuild the whole engine.

Just take the time with a meter and you will find it soon.
