MID OHIO:  Hot in my neck of the woods = 101 degrees today June-28-2012 can you see 138- 145 degrees on the track surface for a road race or a drag race ????  Would be very hard on them ROAD RACERS !!!!!!! and they all do fall , crash , burn and spend their later years hobbling around in pain as one of my best wrench spinners friend fell at MID-OHIO 10 years ago and found that 1320' is a safer way to race.  LARRY PEGRAM a famed Ohio road racer got more broken, stiched parts then any racer I ever met as he has been in that game for 20+ years and not a bad drag racer on a BUSA.POPS BK911 ST/ET

I have seen plenty of crash and burn on the strip as well Pops, besides, if we didn't take risks we would all still be living in caves....

I have had two die street racing , one burned up [ NOS explosion ] track crashed - but still racing today, and one that hit the wall bad twice in the pass five years all on the 1320', one hit by a car in a SUPER GAS car and bike race at my track = bike and rider  loss really  bad and his sight in left eye.  BROKEN LEGS AND ARMS at IDBA events all on the 1320' = I sometimes wonder that if I would have a crash would MEDICARE pay for a 70 year old man  {me } having a crash on a drag strip with me on my drag bike ??????  CHECK THIS CLAIM THE NUMBERS MUST NOT BE RIGHT......

Talking with Ken the other day. Complete new front end from a 600F3 that has been revalved. Magnesium front mag too. Took about 15 lbs off the front end. YSS rear shocks with compression/rebound adjustment. I don't know if they have have high/low compression adjustment. Gas tank mods to improve fuel flow so they can decrease fuel level and save weight. Some engine mods as well. Everything is apart at this point.....Ken better shake his a$$ and get it back together.

Hey fellas (and ladies).

Lots been going on with the bike for sure.  Mike Fitzgerald (thermosman) is building us a bad ass set of F3 forks with all ohlins internals.  Mike is the crew chief for Erik Buell Racing's Geoff May in the AMA Pro Superbike series this year.  He's the bets of the best when it comes to Ohlins.

We're also really excited to try out the YSS piggyback shocks.  Pre-load, ride height, high/low speed compression...the works.

The Dymag front wheel was supposed to be a secret... :)  7 lbs

D.I.D. ERV3 chain (thanks ken!)

There are a bunch of other cool bits....but we'll save the rest for later...or for Ken to spill the beans.

We're registered to race at Mid Ohio at the AMA Vintage Days event next weekend.  Let's hope that Ken and crew can get the bike buttoned up so we can contest for the AMA National Championship in the Original Superbike Heavyweight class

I believe its Mid Ohio July 21 & 22.

Oops... missed KMC's answer...

I was at Elkhart Lake and watched from up the trail from turn 5 at about the braking zone.
I had a clock on the bike and the last lap was quickest by several seconds!

CycleX isn't going to MidOhio because it is not and AHRMA event. It least that is what Kenny told me the other day. I believe the next race is 8/2 in Michigan.

Keep it together,I would love to see this bike in action at MMSP in Tooele Utah.
I have been attending the vintage races there over the last 5 years.I had a z1 that I just sold and received a Honda F3 and another bike + cash. Those Zs are bulletproof and brutes on the street.
Now that I have 78 f3 It would be nice to see Kevin and that bike kick some ass.
On a side note I never saw any big kaws on that track during the vintage racing event.
I would love to see a cb kick some Z1 arse.
On a side note I have noticed a drastic improvement in high speed stability with the F3 over the Z1.
