Same day here most times (walk in - walk out) as long as you have the correct documents including an insurance certificate.  No insurance certificate you might as well stay home.

I should have been more specific: I can ride legally, but to get the actual physical title it will take about two and a half months.

it takes about 4 weeks here to get your title in the mail but if you have a lein on it they keep it until you can prove the lein is taken care of and cost you a extra 15.00 to get it. plus they updated their computers now it's taking months and the dmv shuts down at noon and will not let any new people in if they don't have a number. all this crap because of updated computers just proves the old saying "if it aint broke don't fix it"

Wow.  Here in Virginia, it's same day service.  If you've got all your S together, it's a done deal.  Each office has a dedicated printer full of blank titles, waiting to print up.  Registrations, too.

I'll never complain about spending a half a day at DMV again.

In FL, you can pay an extra $10 and they'll print it out for you right then and there.  Or, if not, it takes less than 3 weeks to get it in the mail.  Last one came in about 10 days.

The 'office' wait time is all over the map - depends on which branch office you go to, and what the folks before you that particular day are tryin' to do.  And, even what time of the month it is - towards the end of the month, yer lookin' at LOONNG wait times because people are trying to renew before the month runs out...

Be thankful you don't live in Joco, james. Thank your lucky stars. They posted cops at the offices because people were getting so pissed about the wait times and it has been two months since the new system was rolled out.

Not rent, a REAL COP, as in people were getting wait times of 8 hours and more for registration stuff- people, muy pissed.
The new system they put in here has taken a while to get used to and the fact the county did not fill 8 forced retirements in the bureau does not help things.

They screwed up my insurance on my CB750 and said I would have to mail it in or go into the DMV to show proof of insurance and I went in and handed over the envelope to the info lady at the desk. There was no way I was going to wait for hours to show proof for one bike.

well it just got worse here my boss heard you had to get there real early so he figured he get there about 6:00 and wait and do some work on his laptop in the parking lot he gets there and a line was already forming and the dmv was handing out numbers his was 536 the dmv quit giving numbers at 8:00 am he said people where getting aggresive at 6:00 in the morning. i have to go here real soon to get my cb750 tagged. the boss said go get my number and he'll watch it on the internet and tell me when i'm 10 numbers out our office is only a mile from the dmv annex.so i guess it wont be to bad.
