If You can't fix it with a hammer, You've got an electrical problem.

It has a big steel cage built around it and the operator stays away from the cage behind a steel pole.
Horse pucky. The steel cage in tire shops is a safety device, used when inflating tires on split-rim type wheels, such as used on big trucks. The ring that holds the tire on one side of the rim can shoot off when the tire inflates, possibly causing serious injury or death.

Balancing machines may have a guard to prevent physical contact with the spinning tire, to prevent your necktie, pony-tail, or beer-gut from getting pulled into it. ;D

No I saw this machine in operation. Also I do not know if there is even any split rim wheels even around.

The machine I saw because a friend of mine worked it in that shop.
They can balance the wheels for the top speeds the car is going to be running at most of the time.

I would suspect you could find split rims in almost every town on the planet.

Then you could put them in a pod for safe storage....

I got my wheels back from the $75 mounting/balancing.  :-\

They said "no weights were needed"  :-\ :-\

Front wheel always stops at the valve stem down. It will even roll up and then come back the other way back down and land with the valve stem down. It seems slight like it is really close but just not quite. I can't test out my back wheel because the bearing isn't that smooth but they put the yellow marker right on the valve stem on that one?

Not too satisfied with that. So they didn't do #$%* in terms of balancing. I should have just put the #$%*ing tires on myself if that's the case

At least once a month for the first 12, then every 3 months there after.   ::)

Go back and see them mate, if the tube stem always falls to the bottom then they aren't balanced properly....   Christ, its not that hard to do, the shop i worked in did the balancing for free with a change of tire, even if it was their tire....
