Just when I thought my SOHC disease was in remission……
« on: June 16, 2006, 09:39:48 AM »
……..I start lurking around this place!!!

Currently I’ve got 2 SOHCs and now, many thanks to you clowns ;-) I feel the urge for another.

I’ve got a ’78 CB750 that I’ve chopped and a ’72 CB500 that’s juuuust about finished its café racer transformation.

You can see photos here:  http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/smac6662003/my_photos

I’m just waiting for the tank and tail section of the café racer to come back from paint and then I’ll post pics of the completed project.  Should be next week hopefully…

The chopper photos are a little out of date so I’ll try to get some new ones shot at the same time.

I’ve been working on these types of bikes for a few years now so I should be able to keep the REALLY stupid questions to a minimum but the odd one will no doubt slip by..

Anyway, I’ve really enjoyed reading through lots of the old posts here and checking out everyone’s bikes.  Hope you like the pics.

Cheers,
Steve

Now, if I could just find a nice stock CB550 at a somewhat reasonable price………………….

Nice lookin chop there. Bet it rides rough with no shocks! Loud as nuts too I bet!

That cafe would kill me though with no seat!

It is not a disease though. You are just riding the insane train!

Thank you very much.  The chop isn't that bad to ride at all with the spring seat.  The pipes have baffles in them so it's not too loud either.

There is a pic there that shows the seat of the cafe.

Love the chop. Got the mid 60s look all over it.
