Along the same lines as the NRA stickers...My Brother has a 2001 HD and one of his buddies who is an Angel gave him a couple of stickers that say "Property of the Hell's Angels" on them...funny most people won't even get within 10 feet of the bike let alone sit on it. He's not affiliated or anything...but those stickers do come in handy. Only down side is he has had another Angel approach him about where he got the stickers and was a little worried that he may have an issue but the other guy understood where he was coming from and didn't make a big deal of it...Something tells me though that if one of the "brothers" saw a sticker like that on my 750K it would end up in worse shape than if it actually did get stolen and taken to a chop shop...

So true.  I live a few blocks away from the Warlocks club here in the New Kensington / Fishtown section of Philly, and those guys are serious.  They don't do the wave, they do the scowl when you ride by on your Jap bike.  I don't think those clubs are held together by motorcycling if you know what I mean.

As an update to the original post topic - I still haven't had the time to install the alarm, but I've found a good place.  For anyone that's interested, there's room in between the battery box & rear plastic inner fender to install an alarm.  That, with a secret cutoff switch, Kryptonite chain sunk in the ground, and keeping it covered when I think of it, will probably be about the best I can do without a garage.

"probably be about the best I can do without a garage."

Kinda funny you put it that way...I think you are far better off with that set up than a garage. The vast majority of the people/victims I know of that have their stuff ripped off (bike/atv water toy whatever) have been out of their garage...reason is quite simple...people get sloppy when it comes to garages and don't do anything else to lock em up (my buddy doesn't even use his steering lock because he says he moves it frequently to get at stuff and finds it a pain).

Another thing you should check is you garage's side door if you have one. During my misspent youth it was amazing how many small garage doors I could find with the hinges on the outside. People want their doors to swing out so they don't hit their parked car but all it takes is a flat screwdriver and a flick of the wrist and out pop the hinge pins. Dead bolt or not the door just lifts away. No I never used this to "obtain" any motorcycles but we knew alot of folks with beer fridges in their garages and when you're 17 and thristy it's amazing what you'll do!

Just a little something to think about...

Most of parkings in Spain are underground parkings, both for shopping malls or for community appartments. If you are unlucky and burglars break in during the night, they raid all they can easier than on the streets. Nobody hear the alarms, nobody see them.

In mine a guy was stolen his CBR900... twice! Second time he installed an anchor attached to the concrete, and the burglars stole all the parts they could and left the frame and engine, as well as the front wheel locked to the anchor. Bycicles are more popular; light, easy to sell, and people just lock them with a thin wire lock...
