I tried the parking on the hatched area here at work.  Was actually quite nice.  They're at the end of each row of parking places.  Notice I said EACH row.  Well, I came out of work one day and found a ticket on the bike.  Mind you this is on company property, not a public area.  It turns out that the striped area was ".....a part of the handicapped parking".  BULL#$%*!!!!  They (the local police that wrote the ticket) wouldn't back down on the ticket, and it cost me and two co-workers $100 each!!!!!!!!!  This was over 3 years ago, and I'm STILL fuming over that one.  I pointed out that even the rows without "handicapped parking" had identical striped areas.  Has anyone ever tried to reason with a cop?  They're right even when they obviously aren't.   GRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!

cops suck

I think every idiot who ever makes that statement (as an adult) should have it tatooed on his forehead, so whenever he's in a situation that he needs their help, the cop will see exactly how this person feels about him and walk away.
Unfortunately, though, whether it be because the cop is bound by law to give assistance, or just general human empathy, he'll probably still help.

Guess I cant say anything good about cops yet. Been a few times I could have used help or had damage done to a vehicle and they did NOTHING. Had damage done to a truck of mine and even had it ON TAPE. They still did NOTHING. Had one pull me over a few months after doing it before, "just to check". Had another one pull me over after I swerved around a car on the side of the road, 3 miles LATER. Just to check if I had been drinking cause I swerved AROUND a car on the side of the road.

No I have nothing good to say about police yet. Maybe someday they will come through on something but I am not holding my breath.

So when I say something about cops, it is because THEY have influenced my decision. Or should I accept countless times of them NOT doing their job just to have them do it once?

Just to add, it is not the people themselves, it is what they think they are when the uniform goes on.

I've had a few experiences with cops. Few speeding tickets, etc. But when my '71 SL175 was stolen, they said they wouldn't even look for it. If they accidentally stumbled upon a bunch of hot bikes with mine in it, i might get it back. Luckily when I wrecked my CB360 a motorcycle cop showed up. Helped me out a ton. That's probably part of the reason I got $1500 for the thing.

cops do suck.  Used to be a time if you were stranded on the side of the road you hoped a cop would come along, now if you break down it's a ticket, here in michigan, if you stop to help someone broke down on the side of the road and a cop comes around, you'll get a ticket or at least have your ID run and car checked out, I stopped to help a guy in a mini van upside down on 131, called 911 on my cell, and when the cops got there they asked me if I saw it happen, told them no, i was on my way home from work and found him stopped to give assistance, after getting the other guys paper work and running his license etc he called an ambulance, then asked me for my ID and paperwork for the truck, then proceeded to give me an RR ticket for the right front flasher not working.

 Cops SUCK.

yep ken is right.when i was a teenager(mid to late 70`s),cops would give drunks a ride home and they never hassled anyone, now it seems when they go to the academy is the first thing they are taught is how to be a dick head.
