How about an electric oil pump to cover them on old brake fluid?  Sorry, it's the most polite I couldn't think of before going to the weapon department...   >:(

Raul you could intoduce an old winshield sqirter with transmissionfluid into the intake of the bike  ::), Gives you a very nice, thick, nasty smoke cloud that also does a downright nice job of cleaning the top end of your motor. ;D The first cloud is always the best one. The first time I did this with a car cleaning the topend of an old junker the fire dept showed up  ::) ;D It made a cloud that was about 200 yards square :o

You mean that spraying transmission fluid on the intake will decoke the piston and combustion chamber? How come I can learn a new thing even on a topic like this?  ;D

I use to carry a tennis ball in between the front brake reservoir and mirror..on a 75 Rd 350 i use to own.Really got their attention when the ball hits the windshied or rear window, after they had cut me off.I even got chased a few times after deploying the ball.

I had some guy driving like a real jerk around me (i was in my car) on the freeway a long time ago. Can't remember what started it but, after a couple of miles of this, he ended up tailgating me. I nailed the throttle and conveniently "lost" a bottle (glass - this was a long time ago) of grape soda out of my sunroof. It smashed down about 5' in front of him and covered the front of his car and windshield. He backed off.  8)

I like the tennis ball idea. Though I might be more inclined to use a golf ball. Or baseball. Or watermelon. ;D

When they give chase ;) This is where scare the Boggie Man and stop. Freaks'em out and they have no idea what to do now that they are face to face with what they think they wanted.

I used to be a big Bicyclist...often rode 100mi a day (I should do that now!)...Bicycles have the right of way over anything except someone on foot...at 20, I was probably a little foolhardy, but I got used to TAKING the room that I needed. I never allowed anyone to force me into riding along a row of parked cars, or crowding me at stoplights...I think that attitude stuck with me..Now I tend to ride fairly close to the centerline, except in the case of the oncoming left turn, where I usually move to the right side of the lane, and sometimes flash my lights, and stare the oncoming driver in the eye, sometimes pointing at them....I also always (even in the car) try to leave a lot of space between me and the car in front of me, even if it means speeding up to pass a slowpoke, or slowing down to force someone to pass me..I also often try to wear white to be seen.
There's nothing you can do about somebody who hits you and obviously is criminal about it, but I just try to stay away from them...likewise, I don't really like to ride on 4 Lanes...to much wind, too much speed, too many people in a hurry..if I'm in a hurry, I'll drive my car..

I have also mentioned making people ride bikes for at least 3 -6 months BEFORE they drive a car. This way, they will realize there are bikes out there and may even look for them.

Thankfully, I have not had too much for tailgating and if I do, it is usually by women. I do think I need a MUCH louder horn though. I did have a schmo cut me off and I laid on the horn and thought, "how wimpy, did he even hear me?" I think he did but still. A louder horn is better. Maybe even 2 horns.

Just got cut off at an onramp today. >:(

My reaction? Let it go, as the people in NH are finding out

Just thought of what we need for those really rude and dangerous a**holes.
Years back I had a Chrysler Laser XE that had all the electronic stuff on it. Every time my cell phone would ring it would kill the car! Anyone know of an electronic device that would kill a car from a couple hundred feet? If they can't drive right you could just turn their car off.

I seem to recall reading about a device the police were trying to perfect to disable cars electroncially as an alternative to high speed chaces and those spike strips they use, called Car Stopper.

"The car stopper works by focusing an intense electromagnetic charge on
the electronic systems that manage most modern engines, disabling them
and paralysing the car. In the jargon of its inventors, the 150 kilovolt
charge is a nemp, or non-nuclear electromagnetic pulse. Contractors are
bidding to produce a police version."

I think there are plans online for making something like that using the magnetron out of a microwave.  Not sure about the power needs though.  It might be a bit bulky to carry on two wheels.

I just did some more research and they're called HERF (high energy radio frequency) guns .  For any propellerheads on here there was an issue of IEEE Spectrum a while back that talked about them.  There are quite a few plans available online if you just do a google search for "herf gun."

I guess with one of those guns you could disable pretty much any modern car, unless it was an older one with breaker point ignition.

Reminds me of a story about when the US captured a late-model Soviet MIG fighter shortly before the end of the Cold War. The intelligence techs were dismantling the aircraft and began to chuckle when they discovered many of the avionics were still manufactured with vacuum tubes. The techs were glad to know the Soviets were flying such antiquated, out-of-date equipment and had to be worse off than the we thought... Until someone in the back of the room commented that vacuum tubes weren't affected by EMP.

I the deafening silence that followed, they agreed that maybe the Soviets weren't so dumb after all...

I've wondered if you video recorded the incident, would the cops do anything about it? The other thing I had in mind was to set up a web sit called "Bad Drivers.com" with video clips showing them. Might be of interest to their insurance company.

When it comes to dealing with tailgating drivers, you could always use an old spark plug toss over the head.  We all have extra plugs sitting around, I'm sure, and I've been told the plug will actually stick in the windshield of the offending moron...er, driver.   :P

I guess Kansas City drivers aren't nearly as bad as you guys have to deal with. People usually give me more room than they would a car. The only time they don't is in bumper-to-bumper traffic. I'm watching them very closely, and take to the shoulder if someone comes up on me too quickly.

Same here in the Twin Cities, population + cellphones= complete madness. I have been riding here for 20 + years and am amazed everytime I ride how careless drivers have become.

I see a small problem with people on cell phones but not near as much as the ones that are tuning in their new stereo or the nut that just spilled coffee in his lap at 70+ or the guy that's trying to read the newspaper while driving. Those are the ones that should be shot.
