Drag bars on my 1978 CB750K
« on: June 14, 2012, 08:09:14 PM »
Hi all, just want to know if drag bars will touch gas tank, or do I need risers? & how tall if needed?

If I had to guess I'd say you'll be fine with drag bars, I've got a superbike style of bar on my 77 750k and they don't come anywhere near hitting my tank at full lock. They pull back a touch, drag bars are straighter.

I'm sure someone with a set will chime in though.

Had them. No the didn't hit my tank, but I ditched them because they were uncomfortable.

I love them
Found this bike in completely stock condition in Feb. 08. Paid over twice what my new one cost 30 years ago. Am trying to re-create the look of the late 70's Drag Bike styling.More later. 4-2-10 It ain't stock any more and I have no idea what I am trying to create !

Nothing against the idea. I put drag bars with 4 inch dog bone risers on a friends 77 750f. It felt dangerous to drive. Super bike bars fixed that.

So, the strategy is to lie to people you are asking for help?

I think I'll be busy going for a ride.

Good luck!
