CB400 pipes
« on: June 13, 2012, 11:39:16 AM »
Hi

I have just passed this site onto someone who has just rebuilt a 400/4.
However he is not happy with the pipes he has from Dave Silver.
The angle from the head looks wrong?
Are there different types
Can you name any other suppliers in the Uk

THANKS chris

There's a company called 'Swarbrick' that make beautiful pipes for these Honda bikes.  They may be able to hook up a set for that bike...but, they're not cheap.

Try Motad (uk?), Marving (italy), M-Tech Chuckyo (japan), or even MAC (US).  Just depends on the look you want.

There are also Predator pipes from the UK, which are stainless.

As for Swarbricks, I cant find a pic but this set on a 500 will be similar http://www.swarbrick-racing.co.uk/photos.php

Interesting that he didn't like the DSS pipes. Were they the replicas of the originals that they sell?

I would very much like to see some detailed photos of those pipes and what specifically he didn't like about them. Only because at $400 odd dollars, I'm contemplating buying a set rather than having my originals rechromed for likely many times that price.

All the manufactures that I've heard of have been listed below, but in my opinion none of them look as good as the original pipes, they're what make the bike in my eyes.

However, and I'm not exactly sure they'll fit on a stock CB400F, but perhaps a set of CB350F pipes might be to his liking? I've always liked the 4-into-2 pipes on those bikes.

Good luck,

Rick.
