...and the carb work continues... Since I had this all apart, I wanted to clean and shine as much as I could, in addition to making sure all of the internals were as perfect as possible. Started with the throttle frame. Took a little bit to figure out how to get the long pivot bar out and this thing is like one of those crazy Chinese puzzles, but fortunately, having a salvage unit to look at took away most of the mystery...
One carb at a time - Parts on the left are going into the recycle bin; parts in the middle get cleaned up and reused; on the right are the new parts. One of the salvage carb sets I have used the later poly floats, so I decided to switch over to those. I think the brass units are OK for the most part, but didn't want to take a chance on them at this point - especially the #1 carb
All cleaned, and setting the floats. Another gem I scored some time ago was this Honda float gauge. It's not really necessary, you could use almost anything to do this, but since I have it, I just gotta use it!
Almost there! Still waiting for a few more goodies, like the 1mm cotter pins (those are HARD to find!) and the requisite rubber dust boots for the carb tops.
Another shot of where the rest of this is at. New fender from CMSNL showed up this past week, so just had to install that. Also added the replacement ignition/fork lock set; as well as the new intake tubes and air cleaner boots.
Hmmm... what will I tackle next???
