ok, so i got a nos 500-605 kit from nipon japan? took the cyl. head and kit to the local shop... they said that the old sleeves have to be pressed out, then the head cylender has to be bored, then the new sleeves presed, then the sleeves have to be bored out then the cylender has to be surfaced... to the tune of about 300 bucks. does that sound right to you guys?
anyway, now what to do, since i have the top end off. should i have the crank ground? the head ported and polished (and what does porting do anyway?) should the valves be reground, do they need new springs....
now the really important thing... what do i do about carbs?? i bought an old set of mikuni carbs from ebay, but they seem to have vacume actuated slides??? any help would be great!
