Need help with headlight and front turn signal install
« on: June 18, 2012, 07:45:15 AM »
I just bought my 77 cb750 k and it came with a "Windjammer" fairing.  When I take the fairing off, there are obviously no turn signals or headlight.

Can anyone help me figure out what all I need to purchase to to get an operable headlight and turn signals?  I was thinking just a headlight, headlight brackets, and turn signals but I am not sure if I am missing anything.

There are a bunch of taped up wires between the forks underneath the instrument panel so I assume those are all of the wires needed for the headlight.

Thanks

Sounds right to me.
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

Now that I am looking at it again, I am thinking there is something that I need to attach the signals to the forks.  Also, it looks like the bolts aren't included to attach the the headlight to the headlight bracket.  Guessing any bolts will do?

Here is where I am looking at signals and headlights:

What you need are fork ears. parts #14 and 15 in this diagram.

Do I definitely need fork cover ears?  Is there a way to mount turn signals without that?

I have found mount brackets for a headlight but I can't really find them for turn signals.  Anyone have experience with this?

I used the turn signal stems as the bolts to mount the headlight. They thread right into the nuts inside the stock headlight bucket. Make sure to use lock washers if you do it though

If you use cheapo headlight brackets you can use the indicators as mounting bolts.

Cheffish beat me to it.

HUGE help.  I will go ahead and purchase the turn signals, headlight, and headlight bracket.  I am fine with cheap as long as it works and doesn't look like crap.
