The K7/K8 used 42.8mm (actually 1 11/16") caliper pistons, compared to the 38mm pistons in the earlier models. The stock 14mm piston MC works fine, IMHO, but if you want a firmer lever, you could use an MC with a larger piston.
The speedo drive adapter you are referring to, RS, is for the early models; Honda modified the drive at some point. The most elegant solution I've seen for the later drive is to machine the back side of the disc carrier to fit over the drive plate.
