Hi, I haven’t been able to find a definitive answer to this.

My CB750 has a K7 engine, and I am in the planning stages of a  CR750-style road replica.

What I want is to reduce the size of the alternator so I can use some sort of cut-down cover and make the engine narrower, which from what I’ve seen will help when it comes to fitting a CR fairing without cutting the crap out of it.

I want to run all the normal road gear (lights etc) and hopefully still the electric start (but might be willing to sacrifice this).

The only concrete solution I’ve seen offered is to adapt a CB400 alternator.

I’m hoping that there’s a fairly standard solution to this problem and that I just haven’t looked in the right places.

Any advice from the brains trust out there would be greatly appreciated.

I think both M3 Racing and CycleX can help you out. I'd provide links but my phone won't open them right now. They both have web sites. If you search the names as I've written them you should find them easily.

I don't know if you'll find anything that will keep your electric starter .
