Disable Drive Chain oiler 1975 cb750
« on: June 20, 2012, 08:26:27 AM »
Does anyone disable this and just oil the chain manually? It works fine but leaves a mess if not adjusted properly. I would rather that it not oil the chain at all. If it can be disabled, how? Thanks

This discusses how to stop the auto oiler on the earlier 750's (I used this method on mine). I'm not sure, but I think later ones are adjustable and may allow you to completely shut them off. Perhaps someone will chime in on that score.

For mine I just screwed it all the way in and used a bit of RTV to block the hole.

I think mine screws all the way in as well. I think they got rid of the stupid oiler all together in 76 models. The thing must have sprayed a quart of oil a day by the looks of the rear wheel :)

That's one of the first things I did when I got my 750.
