I had a new tach cable made by MotionPro. They did exactly what i asked for. Unfortunatley what i asked for wasn't correct. The internal wire is too short by about 1/2 inch, doesn't reach into the tach far enough to drive it. I have one from another bike that is too long by about 1/2 inch.

I could cut it down and it would still leave enough of the 4 sided ending to drive the tach. I just don't know what will happen once i start cutting. Will it unravel like a golf ball?

Any experience?

I'll email MP too.

Try it, no loss. You could try putting some solder or molten lead on the end to stop fraying.
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

I didn't want to sacrifice the other cable if it's all for naught. It's the original from my 305 SuperHawk.

It was a custom job from MotionPro. I'll likely have it remade over the winter, but there is turnaround time to deal with and I wanted a tach for this weekend.

Waiting on a response from MP...
