Just my f@#$ing luck
« on: June 25, 2012, 01:21:05 AM »
The exhaust on my 79 650Z is absolutely knackered ie. my 4-2 is about to become a 4-4, I've been looking for a new/better one for over a year now (remembering in Aus the 650 is as rare as rocking horse sh!t), about the only option I can come across that I like is a Marshall Deeptone, in US they are about $500 in the UK they are 300GBP, in Australia they are $995.  F#(%ing typical, we have to pay twice the price, the suppliers in the US and UK won't ship to Aus either.  Anyway, I was thinking I would just take the exhaust off the 82 650SC (a future project) I have in my shed for the time being till I can save the pennies for a new exhaust, but I found out after a fair bit of cursing and swearing that the exhaust off an 82 won't fit the 79.

'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

Thanks for that les, I've looked them, if the pennies don't start to add up soon I'll have to look at one of those, I'm not a big fan of 4-1's, I prefer the look of the 4-2's or 4-4's, but I could make an exception for the Marshall, I really like the crossover look at the front of them.   :D

MAC  do a system for a 79-82  CB650 for US $429.95, 4 into 2 with turnout mufflers. They also do a 4 into 1 with upswept megaphone muffler for $377.95. Last one they make is a 4 into 1 cannister system for $317.95 in black or in black header with chrome muffler for $333.95.
Freight from here to Oz would be the killer. PM me for more info. I can get em at a discount.

Thanks for the offer tortelvis but I have emailed mac at least twice regarding shipping an exhaust to Aus and neither time I got a reply, not even a courtesy reply saying they don't ship here, so as far as I'm concerned they can go jump, on principal I refuse to buy a mac exhaust, and then there is the fact that I have heard differing reports on their quality.  Frostyboy on this site has a mac on his 550 and I really don't like the sound of it, it is too tinny for my liking.
