The sludge was not hard plastic type of a mixture as I was quite regulare with the oil changes; it was more of a gel type of sludge, consistent with the viscosity of the addative I was adding to the oil as I added oil due to the burning.
I have looked up into the motor and did get a look at the chain tensioner and they seem ok.
