38mm exhaust flanges - where to buy.
« on: June 23, 2012, 05:14:54 PM »
Swapping my rusted 4/4's for a 4/1. The header pipes are 3 mm larger than my old pipes., but fit fine up against my new brass crush washers. These flanges are too small.  Do these sections pry apart, or do I need to buy 38mm?
where can I find them?

On a side note, one of my PO's put crush washers on top of old ones. Pita to get the bottom ones out. >:(

G'Day Mate, no, they don't pry apart, they're spot welded together. What brand of exhaust have you installed? If it's a Kerker or a Mac etc, you can probably buy the flanges from the manufacturer? Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Do you have a place nearby that sells aluminum products mate? I reckon a length of aluminum tube with similar ID and OD, split down the middle with a hacksaw, would do the trick? Cheers, Terry. ;D

Just in case someone else runs into the same problem, and to close this thread.
I couldn't find anything locally with the right OD and wall thickness to use.
So I called MAC Performance, and they had some for a 77/78k that will fit.
$15 + shipping for the set.
