Topic: Tyre size recommendations please

I've just had my rims built for my cr750 project. I went for a 1.85 x 18 and 2.15 x 18 (these were recommended because its easy to get sticky rubber) just wondering if anyone can help me with tyre sizes and any manafacturer recommendations

I have Dunlops on mine, but have the slightly wider WM3 and WM4 rims with KR124a on the front and a KR164 on the rear. The KR124 (if its still made) may suit your rear wheel with a KR825 front.

Both available. Is the 124 a better rear tyre or could I use an 825 front and rear?

Joe, check out the Avon Roadrunner F2 and R2 in race rubber if you want to retain the classic look.

sorry to ask the obvious, but why not ask whoever recommended you those rim sizes what sticky tires they had in mind? if you are planning racing, i think these rims are well narrower than the maximum allowed too... unless of course you are sticking to accurate sizes for authenticity's sake. you could still  use the excellent AM23 130/650 cantilever as it can work even on a 2.15 but on the front you'd be limited to a 90/90 me thinks. wider rims would give you way more rubber options

Ended up having a wm3 and wm4  been looking at tyre sizes and a ton of recommendations have come up. What would be the best sizes and good brand for these tyres? Already considering the dunlop and avon race but are there any road legal tyres?
