1977 750A turbo??
« on: June 27, 2012, 09:36:07 AM »
I have been working with the automatic forum here for a while and it was suggested to bring my desire to turbo my 77 750Automatic to the HYPO forum.  The bike has 19,000 miles and runs and drives great. I have put a couple hundred miles on it now and it seems very solid after a few leaks and issues are fixed. I have a complete "ATP" CB550K turbo kit  from my 1976 550. Also  a few little pieces left over from my turbo 74 CB750K4 that I ran a couple years as stock and then as a low compression 836 . There were a few guys that commented on my posts in the automatic forum and thanks for the thoughts and help. I was going to fab manifolds and modify the 550 parts but it makes no sense to butcher a nice and complete 550 kit. Does anyone have a complete 750 kit they would trade for the 550 kit I have. I prefer to keep my turbo and mikuni carb as I had it freshened several years ago. I will likely keep the boost to 8 lbs or so to stay on the safe side of the trans and head gasket limits. A trans cooler is in order and a fork brace. It would be a fun conversation piece as a turbo bike. Please feel free to comment with suggestions and concerns. I would concider buying the exhaust and intake pieces if necessary but prefer to trade to keep the cost down  as my Wife already looks at me sideways when I already have several bikes to ride???
