I went into a pawnbroker this weekend. (Big no-no) They were remodeling and had some stuff that seemed really marked down. I walked out with five guitars.
So now added to the regular moping around morning I'm gluing stuff, filing frets that are too long and catchy, pulling things apart and soldering, tightening plugs adjusting truss rods, plugging them in and getting ready to go buy some strings.
Also learning the differences in cheap guitar materials and manufacture. The Spectrum is actually made of real wood with a veneer, the Hamer is particle board. Amazing the veneers they can put on stuff and make them look like Maple or Ash.
The Peavey is solid, I can tell by the chunk that came off the lower bout, I wish they'd have saved the piece! Peavey is actually a USA made model. I assume I have a Teisco, but only ID is a Made in Japan sticker. The Yamaha I haven't really dug into yet.
Might have a few for sale if you know anyone that wants a cheap guitar.
