350F emulsifier tube mod
« on: March 12, 2012, 04:28:23 PM »
Well, I did it.  I planned on taking a lot of pictures but I forgot in the haste to get it back together.  I used a .040 jet reamer.  Both holes are done, I took this as a comparison.  Unfortunately, the battery in my other 350F died and I took this one out a while back  :-X  I did start it with a jumper but the true test will be when I get the new battery and ride it.  I'll report back.  It had a lot of blubbering just off idle especially when engine braking and opening the throttle back up.

Some people have reported  increased gas economy with a few extra holes in their emulsifier tubes.

Just as a follow up on this, my bike has a lot of issues past half throttle.  I think I may need to look at the jetting.  Up to half throttle all is good, anything past that is dicey.  I'll try to get a plug chop done in the next few days.

I finally got around to this again.  I picked up a size 67 and 66 jet reamer (equivalent to an 81 and 84 jet size) from Ezbore.  When I got my carbs apart, I realized I was running 72 main jets.  I reamed them out to 81 and made a run to the gas station.  It made a world of difference and shoots right up to redline.  I didn't ride it all that long but there's a definite improvement.  I'll try to ride it to work next week and see how it acts...
