bonny old - mad as a hatter...
« on: July 01, 2006, 09:23:34 PM »
I just came across this story on the bbc and thought I'd see what kind of feedback we all might have...

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/gloucestershire/5132370.stm

I mean, what in the hell are we coming to, here? Do y'all think that one day we'll just have to have a revolution, or are we going to continue down this path until we're all swaddled in bread pudding and handed over to the first gun-weilding fiend to figure out a way to cross the water?

I say chase'em...... Nothing like a huge brush guard to help adjust them  ;D

This is what I am saying when I say stupid people are protected by the status of Martyrdom. A .50 cent bullet would fix this problem for good.  ;D

Junkie did you think I could leave this one alone?  8)

I just noticed, my post numbers are higher than yours.... I must be a bigger big mouth than you............... ::) ;D

I'm stunned! Amazed! Absolutely speechless!

I thought that the only place in the world where the courts would even considering allowing a lawsuit like that would be here.

"P.C. makes you weak and afraid"

The little #$%**s should have been run down and banged up for the night in the cells, and when they started crying the fire hoses should have been put on them to shut them up.

For Pete's sake, chase them till they fall off and kill themselves. One less piece of crap in the world. Two years ago, the bastards stole my cb400f and when they couldn't start it set fire to it. Why could they just not dump it?

Cheapness, would that .50 cent bullet be for the thieves or the police?  Who is worse in this case?!

Perhaps this is a case for mandatory helmet laws?
Then they could be arrested for thievery AND no helmets!!

If the police buy bullets in bulk and use them, I'm sure we could get the price down way below $.50...
76' cb750f custom
69' cb750 sandcast

Amen Saviour 750 Chopper frame
and enough parts to build about 6-7 more bikes

The bullets would be for the thieves and the would be lawyers. Law enforcement does no good when we tie thier hands.

I still remember the time I got mugged on a crowded street.  I flagged a passing cop and this is a quote-
"... what do ya want ME to do?"
I that point I was madder at the cop than I was at the thieves.  If I told him what I wanted him to do, I would be the one in jail.

My brother is a metro policeman in Madrid. He told me they never chase helmetless riders, not even for giving them a ticket. The policemen can be sued, and actually the latter don't give a dame if the rider wants to kill himself.

Couple of years ago a robber kidnapped several people in an spanish bank, and took them hostages for 12 hours. He managed to be given a crotch rocket to get the #$%* out of there. Have a look at this video and you will see how the police managed to catch them. I wonder if he will ever sue them.

The best view is in the last ten seconds of the video. No problem for sensible spirits, there are no bloodshed or gore.

I have to say that I find it desproportionate.

I agree. It's not a police decision not to chase 'em, it's the politicians. And that all stems from frivolous lawsuits. Next they'll be saying the cops can't shoot armed criminals because they aren't wearing a bulletproof vest. Or put them in jail because they're claustrophobic.  >:( >:( >:(

I had a breakin at my house while I was out-of-state.
The caretaker, dog feeder whatever, noticed someone had broken in
Called the police. 45 minutes later he arried and
couldn't find signs of a breakin.

3 days later when I arrived home, I noticed my ladder leaned against my
house, and the 2nd floor window open with the screen on the ground.
The screen had two holes where the locks were. Hmmmm

I contacted some "friends" from the big city and a few days later
recieved apologies from the perps. Also the stolen items were
returned in pristine condition.

Now you know why I never call the police anymore.
peace,
michel
