We have a Harley/Honda shop here. The place is pretty much as non-Honda as you can get ,though. They have absolutely no stock on Honda parts, even though they sell new Hondas and have a Honda sign outside. But they have everything you could dream of for Harley, genuine replacement and aftermarket accessories. It seems like there has been a super strong resurgence in H-D sales because a lot of the newbie bikers are buying these things up with the "SUV mentality" that shows us that they spent a lot of money. I have nothing against H-D in general, they've really made some cool bikes that I like, but I think that most of the snotty "riders" that I have encountered have been on these newer hogs, sneering and scoffing at me and other old school Jap riders, like "what the hell are you riding?". Making nasty comments from the other side of the gas pump, about how bikes like mine are dated and unattractive. All because we don't plunk down $24,000 for an image. It's these same people riding a full-dress H-D that I see taking off from a stop, dragging their feet and off balance when their feet should already be on the floorboards. See these guys? The ones that are putting their feet down too early before a stop sign, again dragging, off balance, about to drop it...gonna stop that hog with your boots, buddy? Try the brakes! A "real" biker knows that no matter what he/she's riding, that the relationship between the rider and the bike is special, image is nothing, the experience is beautiful. Just the pure love of two wheels and the wind.
