Steal it back for Danny.  That would be the fastest solution.

the bike wasnt insured,as ive said before warren bought it in good faith from another guy who bought it at an auction house, ive only rebooted this thread to put some closure on where dannys bike went not expecting it to heat up as it did.

my problem is how cant the police have told danny they had his bike?what did they do ring him once and get a busy signal so thats the end of trying?whatever warren does with it now is hes decision.

danny and warren still havent met or spoken on the phone, ill give each other their numbers, warren has text me with a price of 700 bucks now,ill leave it to danny and warren to decide, danny is making a complaint with the police about him not being notified, dont hold your breath on any outcome there?

EDIT  i now see warrens posts have dissapeard and he seems to have deleted his account here?

danny should just go to the cops say "hey this guy is selling my bike that was stolen!"

danny is still the rightful owner, no matter what.

Exactly. If Danny still has the title for it then have him try showing up at the police station with title in hand saying that's my bike that was stolen and I want it back.

(edit) Here's another idea, is there any way we can "Brimmer" this Warren fellow?

I've met Warren and he's not a dick.....just a bike guy like everyone else here.

He certainly didn't cause this problem. All he's done is buy a bike from someone who bought it at a police auction.

I have spoken to dave and he has given my number to the bloke who had it stolen

i deleted account because my wife was getting the emails and was getting very upset with what she saw i got angry and sent some PMs in anger that maybe shouldent have (shes upset im angry)

the said bike has full tittles from the police auctions and getting sic of guys who know nothing about this shoving their noses in

i can show a reciept for 700 dollars that i paid he guy i bought it of thats what it cost me and then if any one saw the pictures would have seen the amount of time to remove all the paint from whole bike thats was done by thieves

Dave has been told that if he wants it 700 is what it owes me and he has given him my number

i buy and sell bikes to pay my bills i got very angry when told i was a thief and dident own bike when  even police have said i do

as it stands the bike has been removed from sales site until this is sorted but again i cannot sit on this bike for the two or three months that this will take to be sorted because i pay my bills with what i do

if any one wants my number Dave has it

PS begin called a scumbag on face book by someone i dident even know also fueled my anger and subsequent PMs

after seeing what was being said i redid my account but once this is sorted i will delete it again but any one who knows me knows i do not rip people of and i do not appreciate being told i do

It seems you have a penchant for blowing things out of proportion Warren, I did not call you a thief, quite the contrary, I know full well its not your fault and I also stated that the right thing would be for everyone to get their money back and Danny gets his bike, I don't particularly care what you think about people "sticking their noses in" because thats what friends do, help each other out. I am waiting on legal advice as i told you and I will let you know what happens as soon as i hear anything. You need to simply put yourself in Danny's shoes for a minute and see how he feels, I'm very sure if it happened to you, you would be trying to get the bike back yourself, correct..? , You also had no right calling Dave out, he's a good guy and very helpful and honest, nothing underhanded was done at all, he did the right thing. Selling the bike to someone else would have made things worse or more complicated at least,  nothing may come of this but you should at least give Danny the chance to try, the cops screwed up here ...  I'll keep you posted .

Warren,
If your trailer or your truck is disable or worse stolen, that's how this nice old man is going through. Not sure what kinda hard times your in but give the guy a break, what if he was family?
Karma does go both way's.
Do a good deed. Just give it back to him. Surprise him with it.

So, as I'm reading it if the police messed up they need to own up and pay the 700. simple as that I hope.

Wazza has done the honourable thing to offer the bike back to Danny at cost.
I've removed the earlier post and pledge 50 bucks in to go towards Wazza recovering his outlay if Danny gets his bike back.

I wouldn't be holding my breath waiting for the cops to unstuff their stuff up.
Good onya Wazza.
I say put this to bed.

I'm not involved.

As said......I've met Warren and he's an ok dude.

I consider Dave a great friend.

Here's a story for you..............

About 2 years ago I bought a Kawasaki Z250 for one of the kids.

It was for him to commute back and forth to the train station at Loganlea.

Not a great area of Brisbane but hey it was a 1981 250 cc bike. Who wants to mess with a 30 yr old small displacement bike?

Well I guess people will screw with anything because someone made off with it.

It was stolen at approximately 11 pm and recovered by 3:30 am.

Obviously the police were notified. They were explicitly told by ME, CALL IF YOU RECOVER IT. I will bring my ute and haul it home.

So a day later I get called by the towing and storage company to come get my bike out of their lot.

No call from the police no nothing. They just call the tow company and it immediately costs you $250

The storage and towage was $70. The above $250 is just the processing and governmental fees

So basically if your bike gets nicked......the police are fukwits.

They found the bike 4 hrs after it went missing and I've never heard a thing from them.

Only cost about $1500 with fees, repairs, paint, two new side cover..........

i have posted this on face book on all my pages just so people know whats going on
Quote
Ok so update on the CB550 the original owner thru pics i have posted has come forward on the Cb550 (67 year old pensioner)This bike was bought clear title from police auction just so you know - but he has claimed that he wasent called by police when bike was recovered 3 days after theft fair enough so as of now she is not for sale pending matters that the police are looking into. If i could afford to i would just give him the bike as it is i cant have offered the bike to him at what i payed but i know he cant really afford to do it and i don't blame him for trying to get the police to sort it out. so thats the story just wanted to let people know whyu i had it for sale and now its not. my loss by the looks of things. cheers

i fi could afford it i would give the bike to him as it stands i can but in saying that after a call today if he gets it back thru police i will have to go to small claims to try and i do mean try and get my money back so either way im buggered

i understand fully what every one is saying about if it happened to me but i also have finacial obligations my self in saying that

speaking to my father today and he said if it helps he will put $200 bucks towards it for me and that will bring the bike down to $500 atm its the best i can do till this is sorted

oh buy the way any one want to buy a cb750 as i now have to sell it sorry just thought id drop that in as cant keep it now

As mentioned earlier I will give 50 to the cause of restoring the bike to Danny>>>Larry

Oh geez it seems like the police have made a total mess of this and will probably be able to wash their hands of it and not be held accountable for it and if that's the case then either Wolfbane or Danny will be the ones that get screwed. Is there any way to get the local news papers to do an article on it focusing on how the police botched it all up? It probably wouldn't change the final outcome but the bad press may make the police change their policy on these matters so it doesn't happen again.

thanks for all the offers and thanks wazza for keeping us informed and thank your dad aswell,we dont really have a title here like its done in the usa,you can just buy unregistered cars/bikes trailers etc and if they arent encumbered by finance or on the police stolen list they are clear to re register in your name, its best to recieve a reciept of the sale from the seller though with drivers license number or similar.

Geez for a moment there Tim I thought you were donating your ute? I thought to myself, "What a great bloke Tim is, donating his ute to poor old Danny!", then I realised that it's a Mitsubishi, and I thought, "Geez, poor old bloody Danny's got enough problems, why would Tim dump a POS Mitsubishi on him like that?"

Thank God you only meant that you were going to use it to transport the stolen/recovered/auctioned/almost sold again 550 back to poor old Danny, what a great bloke you are! (I hope it makes it there and back.............) ;D

And Dave, my fifty bucks is burning a hole in my pocket, so let me know when you need me to send it to you. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

"Crazy is a very misunderstood term, it's a fine line that some of us can lean over and still keep our balance" (thanks RB550Four)

Pretty harsh on the Ol' mitsi Terry.

It me favorite vehicle mate!

Never gets washed, never gets cleaned. It still has cow s4it on it from a 230 km jaunt to NSW to look at a bent framed YZ.

It hauls bikes and goes to the tip. Did I mention that if anyone asks me to help move....I just throw the keys at them and tell them to bugger off. I don't have to help out of concern for equipment.

No one would ever steal it. Oh, and the 4 wheel drive works.
